20 Sept 2019Walking Tour of El Albayzín & Sacromonte, Lunch/Race Briefing, Visit The Alhambra (Optional Extra)

Visit The Alhambra with an optional excursion.
Visit The Alhambra with an optional excursion.

To start your day, we’ve organized a special treat – a guided walking tour through two of Granada’s most fascinating and special quarters: El Albayzín, a historic neighborhood deeply rooted in Granada’s medieval Moorish culture, and Sacromonte, famous for its thriving Roma culture, caves and long flamenco tradition.

From this part of Granada’s old town, one can easily spot The Alhambra sitting high atop Sabika Hill before a dramatic backdrop – the beautiful, snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountain range, where you will soon have the chance to achieve your next “personal best” in The World’s Fastest Marathon!

After working up an appetite, it’s time for lunch and the Race Briefing.  This is when everyone is gathered together - the participants, race officials and medical staff - for a formal introduction to the event, and a presentation of the practical issues surrounding the marathon. Feel free to ask any questions.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Alternatively, you have the possibility of joining an optional excursion to The Alhambra.

Please note: This excursion must be booked in advance and may not be reserved upon arrival. It is extremely difficult to secure tickets for The Alhambra during high-season, however, by adding The Alhambra excursion to your itinerary, we can guarantee your entry to this fascinating, historical gem. For further details, see “Excursions”.

Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
